Construction of the Bell Inn started way back in the 15th century but as time progressed so did the building. Due to the advanced development of the transport including the rail links to Norwich, it led to the Inn becoming a hotel over the centuries of adding extensions becoming what it is at this present day. Many spooky occurrences have been witnessed over the years by guests and staff. A phantom monk walking the corridors at night, curtains opening and closing by unseen hands, chandeliers swinging in rooms 29 and 30, voices from beyond heard.
