THE HISTORY:

The year 1150 saw the construction of The Tolhouse Gaol which was originally owned by a merchant family for storage purposes. In 1262 the property was passed into the hands of the Yarmouth town official's and so began its long association with the law. The building has played host to courts, the town Gaol with the notorious dungeon known as ' the hold ' and a police station. Prisoners ranged from women and children  to hardened criminals with the most heinous of crimes being met with execution by hanging. The last hanging in Yarmouth was in 1813, after this date executions would take place at Norwich Castle where crowds of upto 30,000 would gather to watch the sentence being carried out. Four cells still remain in the Gaol one of which is the condemned cell.

THE HAUNTINGS: 

Visitors have felt being pushed by unseen entities, chilling screams coming from the cell area and ghostly apparitions wandering the venue. Have you got what it takes to last the night? Do you have the nerve to do a lone vigil in the condemned cell in complete darkness?

WHAT TO EXPECT:

On the night you will be greeted by our team of experienced paranormal investigators and be given a briefing by our host then the fun will begin. You will have the chance to communicate with the spirits using the old and new methods whilst being helped along  by our team and during the night you will be allowed time to go off and explore with your friends.  Light refreshments will be avaliable all night.
